This is part of a series of paintings where I was seek the feeling of being expanded, yet grounded and capturing Ethereal light. I wanted a loose painting to just express the feeling.
“The Promise” captures the quiet hope held in the first light of a new day. The sky glows in warm blush tones, soft and open, spreading gently across the horizon like a whispered assurance of what’s to come. Beneath it, cool blues and lilacs flow through the land, creating a calming sense of distance and possibility.
In the foreground, vibrant strokes of magenta, gold, violet, and white bloom upward with expressive freedom. These loose, textured marks feel like small sparks of life — the beginnings of something unfolding, the first signs of colour returning after a long night.
The scene feels both grounded and ethereal, a meeting place between earth and sky, between what is and what could be. It holds the emotion of standing at the edge of a moment you can’t yet fully see, but can feel deeply — that gentle, quiet certainty that something beautiful is on its way.
